Bio

Rev. Robert and Rita Flohrs serve the Lord in Frankfurt, Germany, at Trinity Lutheran Church (www.trinity-lutheran.de), an international congregation supported in part by the LCMS. As the parish pastor, Bob is called to lead weekly worship, where he preaches and proclaims the Word of God and administers the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, and shepherd the people of God. Trinity’s membership consists largely of Americans living abroad, families from the nearby U.S. consulate, international business people from about 15 different countries who are living and working in the Frankfurt area and several German families. This diverse group of people shares a common Christian faith and the English language.

While the congregation has a number of permanent residents, many are people in transition, staying an average of two to three years in Frankfurt. It is, therefore, a challenge to maintain a steady stewardship of time, talent and treasures.

Before accepting the mission call to Frankfurt in 2009, Bob served congregations in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota. He graduated from Augustana College in South Dakota, and received a Master’s of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., beginning a second career in 1985. As parish pastor, he took mission teams to Germany to work together with local congregations of the LCMS partner church.. Bob is originally from Minnesota and Rita is from South Dakota.

Prayers

Please pray for the Flohrs and Trinity Lutheran Church. Pray that God’s Word and Sacraments are administered to encourage and care for those who walk with Christ and those who still need Him. Pray for an active understanding of biblical stewardship. And finally, pray for an increase in the awareness of Trinity’s presence and welcoming nature.
