Serving the Lord in Taiwan
Rachel Sekki serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as a GEO missionary in Taiwan. She teaches English as a Foreign Language and Bible classes at Concordia Middle School in Chia Yi, Taiwan. Through these classes and other outreach activities, she builds relationships with her students that allow her to share the message of God's love for them in word and deed.
Rachel is from Painesville, Ohio, where her home congregation is St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She graduated from Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill., with a degree in art and Lutheran secondary education art and minors in psychology and theology. In her free time, Rachel enjoys singing, swimming, reading, art, photography and visiting museums.
Please pray for Rachel as she serves in Taiwan. Pray for God to help her learn Chinese, so that can she communicate well with her students and their families. Ask the Lord to help Rachel as she transitions to living in Taiwanese culture. Pray that He would open Rachel's eyes to see the opportunities that He puts before her and use them in ways pleasing to Him. Finally, pray that Rachel's presence would be a blessing to both her North American and Taiwanese colleagues.
