Evreda and Arturo Cépeda

Serving the Lord in Peru

Bio

Evreda (Evy) and Arturo Cépeda serve the Lord as missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Peru. In her role as an English-as-a-Second-Language teacher, Evy teaches English classes as a way to share the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ with non-native English speakers. She also serves as a volunteer coordinator, helping to facilitate the service of short-term teams and volunteers in Peru.

Evy, a native of Texas, has a degree in environmental, soil and water science from the University of Arkansas, and she has worked as an assistant teacher at a Montessori elementary school and as a Spanish teacher at various high schools in Texas. She also has served in children’s ministry at Salem Lutheran Church and Iglesia Luterana Cristo Para Todos, located in Springdale, Ark. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to audiobooks, cooking, crocheting and watching her kids play sports.

Evy is joined on the mission field by her husband, Arturo, and their four children: Arturo Evan, Fernando, Lucia and Felipe. Their home congregation is St. Paul Lutheran Church in Paris, Texas. Arturo has worked as a manager at several companies in Lima, Peru, and in his spare time, he likes to play soccer and tennis. 

Prayers

Please pray for the Cépeda family as they serve in Peru. Ask God to give them comfort, strength and guidance as they make the transition to Peru. Pray that God would open the hearts and minds of the people they meet, so that all might come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Give thanks to God that the Cépeda family is serving God's people in Peru.
