Rev. Sergio Fritzler and Lilian Rosin Hilscher

Seminary Director and Church Planter

Serving the Lord in the Dominican Republic

Bio

The Rev. Sergio Fritzler and his wife, Lilian Rosin Hilscher, serve as missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in the Dominican Republic. Sergio is the director of Concordia the Reformer Seminary and Mercy Center in Palmar Arriba, where he teaches courses and helps prepare men to be pastors who will proclaim the Gospel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. He also helps plant new churches in the country by developing groups of believers into mature, self-sustaining congregations.

Sergio is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds a Bachelor of Theology from Concordia Seminary, Argentina, and a master’s degree in Pastoral Theology from the Instituto Ecumênico de Pós-Graduação em Teologia (da EST), Brazil. Sergio has been serving in the Dominican Republic since 2017. Before that, he held various roles as a pastor, professor and director in Argentina and Chile. In his free time, Sergio enjoys grilling, watching soccer, playing musical instruments and translating hymns.

Lilian is from La Paz, Paraguay. She studied nursing at the School of the German Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and later worked as a nurse at the German Hospital for eight years. She and Sergio have two sons: Enzo and Martín. In her free time, Lilian enjoys singing, gardening, interior design and spending time in nature.

Prayers

Pray for Sergio and Lilian as they serve in the Dominican Republic. Ask God to raise up more men to become pastors and to bless the professors who will teach them. Pray for the health and safety of all missionaries, and that more churches would be planted in the Dominican Republic. Let us give thanks that Sergio and Lilian are serving God’s people in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 12.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
