Rev. Steven Braun

Serving the Lord in Germany

Rev. Steven Braun serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Germany. In his role as a missionary pastor, he assists German congregations with outreach to refugees and immigrants from the Middle East. He teaches these individuals and other new believers about the Christian faith and provides them compassionate support and friendship.

Steven’s hometown is Flower Mound, Texas, and his home congregation is Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, Sugar Land, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in lay ministry and theology (with an emphasis in missions and evangelism) from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, in 2015. He received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., in May 2019. In his free time, Steven enjoys playing various musical instruments (especially the cello and guitar), reading, playing and watching soccer, cooking and hiking.

Pray for Steven as he serves in Germany. Ask God to be with him as he learns the German language (and other languages as needed); as he transitions to the culture; and as he boldly proclaims the Gospel message. Pray for his family and friends back in the United States, especially his nieces and nephews, that they may continue to grow and mature in their faith in Jesus. Pray for the missionaries already serving around the world, particularly the ones serving in Germany. Ask God to be with the people in Germany who do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Pray for Steven as he travels to build a network of supporters, both prayerful and financial. Let us give thanks that Steven is serving God’s children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution differently. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.  Consistent with Synod Board policy, no more than 12 percent of a charitable contribution may be applied to administering gifts and communicating with contributors.  Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
