Rev. Micah and Deaconess Dorothy Glenn

Serving the Lord in Ferguson, Mo.

About the Glenn family

Rev. Micah and Deaconess Dorothy Glenn serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as national (domestic) missionaries in Ferguson, Mo. In this role, Micah serves as the executive director of the Lutheran Hope Center in Ferguson.

He plans and coordinates outreach events within the community in order to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of its people. This coordination includes the administration tasks of organizing such events. The events the Center sponsors focus on family ministry. In addition, through tutoring and mentoring programs, the Center reaches out to the youth in the community, especially at-risk youth.

He also provides Word-and-Sacrament ministry at nearby Grace Lutheran Chapel in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Mo.

Micah was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his hometown is Ferguson, Mo. His home congregation is Chapel of the Cross, St. Louis. Micah received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill., and his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. From 2008-2010, Micah worked at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church’s summer camp. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and playing video games.

Dorothy’s hometown is London, England, and her home congregation is Redeemer Lutheran Church, Oakmont, Pa. She earned a bachelor’s degree in theology, with her deaconess certification, from Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill. She interned from 2012-2013 and served as a called deaconess from 2015-2016 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Freeburg, Ill. She also served as campus ministry coordinator at Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville.

Micah and Dorothy have three beautiful children — Jonathan, Talitha and David. They enjoy going to the St. Louis Zoo with their children and finding new and cool playgrounds on which they can play.

Pray for Micah and Dorothy as they serve in Ferguson. Ask God to fill their family with peace as they adjust to missionary life.

Pray for the new ministry at the Lutheran Hope Center, that it brings peace and hope to the broken and wounded people in this community.

Ask God to be with Micah as his and the Center’s ministry goes out into a volatile neighborhood that is still struggling to heal.

Pray that through the Center’s work people who have never been taught about Jesus come to know the Good News of the Gospel.

Let us give thanks that the Glenns are serving as missionaries in Ferguson.
