Serving the Lord in the Czech Republic

Bio

Sarah Harms serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionary in the Czech Republic. In this role, Sarah works with the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (SECAC) and Project M.I.S.E. In the Czech language, Project M.I.S.E. stands for Mobilizace, Integrace osobnosti, Společenství, Evangelizace. Translated into English, Project M.I.S.E. stands for Mobilization, Integration, Fellowship, Evangelizing. Project M.I.S.E. started as a missions initiative from the Silesian Church with the intention of being the mission branch of this church body. Most recently, Project M.I.S.E. adopted the vision of 21/10, starting 21 mission groups over the next 10 years. Sarah bears witness to the Gospel through her participation in this initiative.

Sarah teaches conversational English in various traditional and non-traditional learning environments on a weekly basis. She leads Bible studies on topics of interest for non-believers and believers alike. During the summer months, Sarah also helps coordinate and facilitate LCMS short-term mission teams and events focusing on teaching the English language using Bible-based materials. As needed, Sarah assists other LCMS missionaries serving in the Czech Republic with existing projects and events and helps to teach members of LCMS partner churches Lutheran doctrine and catechesis.

Prayers

Please pray for Sarah as she serves in the Czech Republic. Ask God to give her strength as she adapts to the culture and learns the language. Pray for her family and friends who are still in the United States. Pray that God helps her make meaningful connections and that the Gospel takes root in the hearts of the people of the Czech Republic. Ask God to give Sarah patience, peace and resolution to do the work He has called her to do. Pray that, through God’s grace and the Holy Spirit’s power, Sarah is successful in her witness to God’s love and the Gospel. Let us give thanks that Sarah is serving God’s children in this part of the world.
