Peter and Lucy Hoffmann

Serving the Lord in the Czech Republic

Bio

Peter and Lucy Hoffmann serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as missionaries in the Czech Republic. In this role, the Hoffmanns carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of this country as they teach English as a foreign language to them. As they teach, they build relationships with their students where the “seeds” can be planted for the Holy Spirit to transform their hearts through saving grace and a belief in Jesus Christ as their Savior. They also perform other needed tasks as they relate to the mission and ministry of the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession and the LCMS Eurasia mission team serving in Central Europe.

Peter and Lucy are from Big Canoe, Ga., and their home congregation is King of Kings Lutheran Church, Jasper, Ga. Peter received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. Lucy received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina, Columbia.

Peter is a retired director of continuous improvement, and Lucy worked as a second-grade teacher. Both of them serve in various capacities within their home congregation. Peter enjoys alpine hiking, playing the Swiss alphorn and writing music. Lucy’s hobbies include playing the flute, reading and hiking.

Prayers

Pray for Peter and Lucy as they serve in the Czech Republic. Ask God to go before them to soften the hearts of the people of the Czech Republic so they are open to a living faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that God helps ease the transition for both of them as they adjust to the new culture and language. Let us give thanks to God that the Hoffmanns are serving His children in this part of the world.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
