James Krey

Serving the Lord in the Latin America and Caribbean Region

Bio

James Krey serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in the Latin America and Caribbean, based in the Dominican Republic. He serves as a communications specialist for this region. In this role, he helps to share the story of what God is doing in this region through missionaries, partner church bodies and all believers, using pictures and video. He focuses on the many LCMS mission projects (i.e., churches, schools, group homes, mercy centers) that are being worked on in this region. Through the media he creates and develops, James is able to inform the worldwide church how God is working in Latin America and the Caribbean, garnering prayers and support for the missionaries serving there and the regional mercy projects being undertaken. James also will be involved in the life of the local congregations, teaching English classes and helping with youth groups and Bible studies when needed.

James was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His home congregation is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. He received an advanced diploma from St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario. He is an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, serving as the church’s financial secretary and trustee and helping with fundraising dinners and landscaping tasks. James served on two mission trips to the Dominican Republic (June 2014 and June 2015) and one mission trip to Nicaragua (March 2013). He also has volunteered with Bethesda Lutheran Communities Disability Services and with the after-school program at First Lutheran Christian Academy, Windsor. In his free time, James enjoys volunteering at his church, sports, playing video games and spending time with friends.

Prayers

Pray for James as he serves throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Pray God gives him strength and peace as he learns the culture and the language. Ask God to help him learn the Spanish language so he can effectively communicate and share God’s Word with the people he is called to serve. Pray for the hearts of people here in the United States who will partner with James in prayer and financial support so they can participate in the Kingdom work with him. Let us give thanks to God that James is serving His children in this part of the world.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
