Rachel Meyer

Serving the Lord in Uganda

Rachel Meyer serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Uganda. In her role as an education consultant, Rachel works alongside the Lutheran Church of Uganda (LCU) to develop Christian education in their Lutheran schools. She teaches Bible classes and the music of the church to students. She also assists the LCU in equipping others to teach the faith through teacher training and curriculum development. Rachel is thankful for the opportunity to share Christ with children, as well as to walk alongside pastors, teachers and school administrators to help strengthen the ministry to children in congregations and schools.

Rachel’s hometown is Milwaukee, Wis. She received bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and music education from Concordia University Chicago, and a master’s degree in education with a specialization in elementary reading and literacy from Walden University. Before serving in Uganda, Rachel taught at Lutheran schools in California, Illinois and Taiwan. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, music, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Pray for Rachel as she serves in Uganda. Pray for the ministry in the Lutheran schools in Uganda, that God may work through His Word to build faith in the hearts of the students, teachers, families and communities. Ask God to continue to nurture Rachel in the faith and give her wisdom and encouragement to humbly share Christ’s love in word and deed. Pray that God’s name is glorified in all that Rachel does and says. Let us give thanks that Rachel has been given the opportunity to serve God’s people in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution differently. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent. Consistent with Synod Board policy, no more than 13.5 percent of a charitable contribution may be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
