Fire Relief

2012 Western Wildfires Update: Reports from the LCMS Rocky Mountain District President and District Disaster Response Coordinator now indicate that LCMS members’ homes are in the path of the firestorm and many have been evacuated. LCMS pastors and congregations in the area are in the process of contacting their members. The LCMS’ disaster response ministry has offered the full resources of the Synod – including emergency grant dollars – to assist the affected districts and local LCMS congregations as they assess and then respond to the needs of both LCMS members and others in their community.

How to help
NOTE: Because the LCMS typically receives nearly half of its annual charitable support in the months of November and December, we encourage donors to prayerfully consider a gift to LCMS Disaster Response that is in addition to any planned year-end gift intended to help sustain the ongoing witness and mercy work of the Synod.
