Rebecca Wagner

Serving the Lord in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Rebecca Wagner serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in Minneapolis, Minn. Rebecca organizes opportunities for interaction and cultural exchange between the domestic and international students who attend the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She seeks to build relationships with individual students for the sake of outreach, catechesis and works of mercy. She directs students to University Lutheran Chapel and its campus pastor for formal catechesis, Bible study, worship services, spiritual growth and fellowship opportunities. Rebecca is also working with others in leadership to establish English language outreach programs and to explore partnership opportunities (where permissible) with other groups on the university’s campus.

Rebecca was born in Rapid City, S.D., and grew up in Iowa. Currently, her home congregation is University Lutheran Chapel on the campus of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She received a bachelor’s degree in Chinese and linguistics from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Before serving in Minneapolis, she worked as a librarian and basic skills teacher at Lakes International Language Academy, Forest Lake, Minn. Rebecca also participated in a mission trip to Seoul, South Korea in 2011 and served as the director for international student ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Iowa City, Iowa, from 2012-2013. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, camping, playing the organ and piano, biking, crocheting, stained glass artwork and spending time with her husband Peter and her daughter Annika.

Pray for Rebecca as she serves in Minneapolis. Ask God to continue to strengthen her for the work He has created for her to do in this city and on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Pray also for the students and faculty at the University of Minnesota that they are led to faith in Jesus Christ. Ask God to open the ears of these individuals, His children, to hear the Gospel. Pray that the Holy Spirit continues to provide wisdom and guidance to University Lutheran Chapel and its pastor and leadership as this congregation ministers to the university students, domestic and international. Let us give thanks to God that Rebecca is serving His children in Minneapolis.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
