Cindy Zirbel Wrucke

Serving the Lord in the Czech Republic

Bio

Cindy Zirbel Wrucke serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Czech Republic. As a missionary to the Czech Republic, she works closely with the Lutheran Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Czech Republic (ECAVvČR).

She develops and implements communication strategies to support the evangelism and outreach efforts of this church body. She presents timely information about the ECAVvČR and the LCMS mission work being done in the Czech Republic through print, video, web and social media. Cindy also teaches English in non-traditional settings and leads Bible studies for unchurched and new members.

Cindy’s home congregation is Peace Lutheran Church, located in Beaver Dam, Wis. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University, Milwaukee, and a master’s degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In her free time, Cindy enjoys knitting, hiking, cooking and traveling.

Cindy has video production experience at NBC affiliates in Milwaukee and Dallas, as well as American Airlines corporate headquarters in Dallas-Fort Worth. She served as editor for Thrivent’s magazine Correspondent before owning her own marketing communication firm. Cindy also worked as a financial advisor and was a limited partner with Edward Jones. She most recently owned an organic farm and ran a local business in the Horicon, Wis., community.

Prayers

Pray for Cindy as she serves in the Czech Republic. Ask God to help her increase fluency in the Czech language. Pray that God strengthens her to boldly share the Gospel through effective communication. Let us give thanks to God that Cindy is serving His children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 12.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors (compared to a not-more-than ceiling of 10.5 percent the previous fiscal year). Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
