Rev. Tony and Constance Booker,
Serving the Lord in the Czech Republic

Bio

Rev. Tony and Constance (Connie) Booker serve the Lord as missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in Prague, Czech Republic. Tony serves as the pastor to a small congregation of English-speaking expatriates and helps build closer relationships between the LCMS and local Lutheran churches, so that they might work together in mutual mission and ministry. He also coordinates cultural exchange events with members and institutions of the surrounding community; is developing a deeper relationship with a Lutheran Czech day school; and serves as the LCMS supervisor for local short-term mission teams and projects.

Tony grew up as a “missionary kid” in Austria, where his parents served with Greater European Missions. Tony and Connie are from Fort Wayne, Ind., where they are members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and where Tony has served as the pastoral assistant since 2009. Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from the University of Wyoming, a Russian language certificate from Indiana University’s Russia and East European Institute, and an M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. Connie holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing and worked at the neonatal intensive care unit at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for 17 years prior to moving overseas. In Fort Wayne, Tony was an active member of their local school board and served as the board president of Imagine Schools, a local charter school. Connie was active in the restoration of the C.F.D. Wyneken house with the Friends of Wyneken and organized activities for their church’s craft group. Tony’s hobbies include travel, world history and international politics and Connie enjoys genealogy, crafts, website development and travel.

Prayers

Please pray for Tony and Connie as they serve in Prague. They ask, “Pray that God would aid us in transitioning Connie’s mother into independent living. Pray too that God would preserve our joy and grant us courage during our service in Prague.” Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts and minds of those who will hear the Gospel as a result of Tony and Connie’s ministry. Finally, give thanks to the Lord that the Bookers have answered His call to serve in the Czech Republic!
