Timothy and Megan Dooms,
Serving the Lord in Kenya

Bio

Tim and Megan Dooms serve the Lord through LCMS World Mission as GEO missionaries in Kenya. (GEO missionaries are globally engaged in outreach and serve for terms of 1-2 years.) Tim is a teacher at a Lutheran intermediate school for orphans in Kisumu and Megan works with Pastor David Chuchu, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK), in the Diakonia Compassionate Ministry office, assisting him with program administration. Tim and Megan also work alongside Pastor Chuchu and deaconesses in making door-to-door home visits, running orphans and widows support programs and children’s Bible clubs, helping with placements of children with disabilities in work places and assisting in advertising and promotion of ELCK programs and services.

Tim is originally from Greenwood, Ind., and holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind. Megan is from Indianapolis, Ind., and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing, also from Valparaiso University. Tim and Megan’s home congregation is Advent Lutheran Church in Zionsville, Ind. In his free time, Tim enjoys reading, camping and outdoor activities, and Megan’s hobbies include hiking, playing guitar, running and baking.

Prayers

Please pray for Tim and Megan as they serve in Kenya. They ask, “Please pray for good spiritual and physical health for us to help carry out God’s work to those in need in Kenya. Pray for God to work in the hearts of the Kenyan people to provide comfort, hope and peace from suffering through faith in Christ.” Finally, give thanks that Tim and Megan have answered the Lord’s call to serve in Kenya!
