Hannah Kiefer,
Serving the Lord in Hong Kong

Bio

Hannah Kiefer serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in Hong Kong as a GEO missionary. (GEO missionaries are globally engaged in outreach for one- to two-year terms.) She works as a missionary at three different primary schools in Hong Kong, all of which are part of The Lutheran Church—Hong Kong Synod. She teaches English and Bible classes of various levels, spends time with the students during their recess and lunch hours and assists with extracurricular activities. She also leads Sunday school at Euon Church, which is part of Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran Primary School. When LCMS short-term mission teams from the United States serve in Hong Kong, she assists them throughout their stay. Hannah intentionally develops relationships with her students and others who she meets, answering spiritual questions, sharing the Gospel one-on-one when God provides the opportunity and praying that more local people would come to faith in Christ.

Hannah is from Herscher, Ill., and is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bonfield, Ill., where she has been involved with the youth group for many years. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in English – Creative Writing and a minor in business administration, where she also ran cross country and track. In her free time, Hannah enjoys running, eating Nutella, dancing and discovering new music.

Prayers

Please pray for Hannah as she serves in Hong Kong. She asks, “Pray that I would build strong, life-long friendships with both local people and my teammates. Pray that I would make the most of this amazing opportunity that God has given me and that I will always remember, through the joys and especially the struggles, that God is working through me and in me and that He has a plan.” Finally, give thanks that Hannah has answered the Lord’s call to serve in Hong Kong.
