March for Life 2013

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will again participate in the January “March for Life” in Washington, D.C., providing information and insights from marching Lutherans through online coverage. The 40th annual march, which takes place Jan. 25, is expected to draw more than 250,000-plus participants. The event protests the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion in the United States. Since that decision, more than 50 million children have been aborted in the United States.
In conjunction with this year's national march, LCMS Life Ministries is holding the first-ever LCMS Life Conference, set for Jan. 25-26 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel, Arlington, Va. The conference title is "Lutherans and Pro-Life Advocacy — Good and Acceptable Service," based on 1 Tim. 2:1-4. January 14 is the registration deadline.
The pre-march LCMS divine worship service — open to all — will be held at the Hyatt Regency at 9 a.m., not Immanuel Lutheran Church as in years past due to the high number of anticipated worship and march participants.
Open to all, the conference will offer tips for individuals, groups and congregations on pro-life advocacy at the local, state and national levels and discuss theological motivation, encouragement and practical suggestions for becoming more active in the public arena.
